Award Opportunity for Small Business NPS Concessioners
NPS concessioners with fewer than 100 employees are eligible to apply for a national Small Business Recognition Award; the deadline for applying is Friday, March 23, 2007. This award recognizes exemplary performance in pollution prevention leadership, industrial environmental leadership, and community environmental leadership, and will be presented to winners at the National Small Business Ombudsman/Small Business Assistance Program Conference in St. Paul, Minnesota, June 18 through 21, 2007. Anyone may nominate an agency or individual representing a small business but self-nominations will not be accepted. Previous winners are not eligible.
Concessioners are eligible for the Small Business Environmental Stewardship Category. (The other two categories, for Small Business Assistance Programs and Trade Associations, are not applicable to individual concessioners.) To apply for an award in the Small Business Environmental Stewardship category, a concessioner must:
- Be an independently owned company with fewer than 100 full-time employees;

- Have worked with a local, state/territorial, or national Small Business Ombudsman/Small Business Assistance Program; and
- Be located either in the U.S. or territories
Award applications must be received by the Awards Committee Chair no later than Friday, March 23, 2007 at 4:00 pm EST. These applications must use the award nomination form on the Small Business Recognition Award web site. Please refer to this web site for more information about application specifications.
